The Riddle of the Sphinx
“What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening? The Sphinx is said to have guarded the entrance to the Greek city of Thebes and asked this riddle of all travelers who passed by. If the traveler failed to solve the riddle, then the Sphinx killed him. And should the traveler answer the riddle correctly, then the Sphinx would destroy herself.
With the answer,“Man, who crawls on all fours as a baby, walks on two legs as an adult, and walks with a cane in old age.”Oedipus solved the riddle. the Sphinx then threw herself from her high cliff and died.

John:Chapter 3 4-6
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
